She’s A Stainiac, Staaaaaaiiniac

My friend Angela and I both received samples of Stainiac Cheek & Lip Tint (by The Balm) in our June Birchboxes. Before I had even tried mine, Angela was addicted to hers and raving about it, so I figured I should GET ON IT. I have an imaginary reputation to uphold!

Mask Masque

My husband was working late (again!) so I figured it was the perfect time to try the new Masqueology  Pore Minimizing Masque I got in my June Birchbox. This plan usually backfires, and my husband ends up coming home mid-masque, then makes some HILARIOUS comment, but I keep doing it anyway.

Make A Wish

The first time I brushed on Benefit's Dandelion,I thought it was the palest, softest pink blush ever. Fitting for something called Dandelion, it’s barely a whisper of color, but a few more swipes made it more evident. It was pretty and natural looking, but I wondered how many people were fair enough for the palest pink blush I had ever seen.

Spring Cleaning: Done!

Just in time for the first day of summer, I finished Spring Cleaning my makeup cabinet. It had been… awhile. I think I skipped doing it last year due to some health b.s., and I had an embarrassing number of expired products.

Less-Fair, Less-Hair.

Last weekend I went to a wedding in Pennsylvania, and my mother-in-law asked how I managed to have a tan already. The answer, of course, is self-tanner. Gradual self-tanner, to be precise, because it is so much easier and less stressful to use than the stuff that makes you tan all at once, though I occasionally do that too. You might have heard me mention it before.

Lip Sinking

We have a guest post today! Beth C. managed to find what may be the best deal on lipstick ever.

I’ve had no lipcolor luck in ages. Doesn’t matter how much I spend – and believe me, I’ve spent enough. It’s just never quite right. Color, feel, taste, stay, whatever. I own an unsaintly reliquary of old sticks, stains, glosses, tubes.

La Bamba, Bella!

I scored a generously sized free sample of Benefit Bella Bamba as a 100-point perk from Sephora.

I’m sure I’ve said this before, but if you’re not a Beauty Insider, you should totally sign up. It’s free, you get points for purchases, which are redeemable for freebies, and you don’t even have to be on their email list if you don’t want to be. But that’s where the codes are to get MORE freebies! It might seem like I get a lot of free stuff, and I really do, but it’s not because I write a blog (thought that would be nice), it’s because I’m WORKIN’ IT.

One Small Step For Tan

When I found a full-size bottle of Stila One Step Bronze in my June Birchbox, I was intrigued. While I usually just use a light dusting of powder bronzer in the summer, this serum (according to the box) says it will do a whole lot more than just give a little sunny color. It promises a “flawless glow,” and lots of other lovely things. Honestly, even if it only promised a flawless glow and then delivered on it, I would be all over this.

June Birchbox

Can you believe it’s June already? I feel like the spring months flew by so quickly, I get a Birchbox every time I turn around. During the winter it felt like they arrived once in a blue moon. I wonder what type of cliché they’ll arrive like this autumn.

Best Of

After my dental hygienist begged me to tell her what I use on my skin, I decided I should put together a “Best of” list for the blog. I write about a lot of things, and I try a lot of things, but there are some things I buy again and again. (Or would buy again if they broke.)

Seche Vite Sandwich, Hold The Chips

I wrote about Seche Vite ages ago, but if you haven’t tried it yet, here’s a little story, and a tip, that may convince you of its awesomeness.

NOT Cool, Dude.

Earlier this week I wrote about shopping ESP. Today, a story about what happens when I ignore my shopping intuition, because I did that on Saturday, and it was a real pain in the foot.
