We All Scream For Sunscreen

 

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it eleventy times: The only safe tan is a fake tan. We all need to wear sunscreen, pretty much all the time. It’s important to find something you like, and if you have yet to find products that work for you, Sephora will let you try 17 of them for $30. And they’ll throw in a reusable train case! It’s kind of an amazing deal. (They value it at $193.) Even better, 100% of the net proceeds will benefit the Skin Cancer Foundation.

Currently, skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in the U.S. Each year there are more new cases of skin cancer than breast, prostate, lung and colon cancers combined. If that doesn’t get you, how about this? Up to 90% of the visible changes commonly attributed to aging are caused by the sun.

It’s just like exercise and eating right: If not for Health, then for Vanity!!!

According to skincancer.org “Until age 39, women are almost twice as likely to develop melanoma as men. Starting at age 40, melanoma incidence in men exceeds incidence in women, and this trend becomes more pronounced with each decade.” This is presumably because women start freaking out about their skin at age 40, and begin to be more careful about wearing sunscreen. If you’re not 40 yet, and you start protecting your skin now, just think of how much better you’ll look than the women who wait 'til they’re 40 to start taking care of themselves! Plus, less risk of cancer, which is always a plus.

Sephora puts together a Sun Safety Kit every year, but this one got my attention because it has a few things that are already favorites of mine, plus a bunch of things that sound really awesome.
