Touche Me Once, Touche Me Twice
It’s been 100 years since I wrote anything about actual makeup! Maybe 100 days, but still, it’s been awhile! I guess during summer I wasn’t doing anything all that interesting, except for some lip glosses, or stains, or glossy stains. I was basically all BB Cream, O-Glow, and Buxom mascara all the time, with a little dust of whatever on occasion. The weather was just so sticky! It’s not the heat, you know, it’s the humidity. And also, it’s the heat.

Matchmaker, Matchmaker, Make Me A Match
I was going to write about the Birchbox that arrived over the weekend, but I just heard about the new Sephora + Pantone Color IQ system, and I need to talk about it right away!

Egg Hunt
Holy Thursday! It’s almost Easter and I’ve been sitting on these egg-shaped makeup sponges for weeks, just waiting for the right time to share them.

Airbrush Gets A Classy Makeover

I was recently presented with the opportunity to buy a Temptu AIRbrush Makeup System from Sephora at 40% off. At first, I thought: “No, I don’t need an airbrush. I am totally 100% fine without one.” But I’ve been sooo curious about airbrush makeup, and I have a blog to write, so about 3 minutes later I made my purchase online. The system came with two pods of foundation in my choice of color, which was easy to choose from the options they had. (I am almost always the lightest shade, or second lightest, skewed toward yellow.)

Your Face in High Def

Make Up For Ever is running what they say are the first ever make up ads without any retouching. (Notarized and all!) In order to be able to make this claim, they couldn’t even retouch the stuff that really needs it, like the mysterious white powder on her elbow. Or how her arm looks a little lumpy and weird due to the angle and lighting. Plus her armpit! Ugh. In fact, all the ads have too much armpit. Maybe next time put the girls in shirts with sleeves, Wardrobe Stylist! But: her face looks great. Part of the reason could be that the girl is probably 17 and is definitely a model who looks a lot like Blake Lively. Still, it’s pretty impressive!
