*Blush*

Sorry to have fallen off the face of the earth for a week! I got wrapped up in a project and basically dropped everything else, without warning. Oops. I may have to start doing only two posts a week, but I’ll keep up the best I can… because I still have to tell you stuff!

One such stuff is this Korres Cheek Butter.I picked it up toward the end of the summer, because I wanted a warmer option than the O-glow I’d been using, and this seemed like a really natural looking color. It’s the kind of “universal” pinky peach that looks good on everyone, according to a bunch of magazines I read, so I actually ended up ordering it online without even trying it at the store.

She’s A Stainiac, Staaaaaaiiniac

My friend Angela and I both received samples of Stainiac Cheek & Lip Tint (by The Balm) in our June Birchboxes. Before I had even tried mine, Angela was addicted to hers and raving about it, so I figured I should GET ON IT. I have an imaginary reputation to uphold!

Glowing Review: Color Change Two

The next color-changing product this week is a little less dramatic than the nail polish, but has a much more dramatic name: Smashbox O-GLOW.

Proof

While I was “down the shore” I tried out some waterproof eye makeup. I’m not a big crier, so I figured the ocean would kind of be like a big salty cry, and would really put this stuff to the test. I had heard great things about Maybelline One By One Volum’ Express Hydrofuge Mascara, so I used that in Blackest Black (none more black!) For eyeliner, I used Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner in Mat Black (which is a matte black, go fig.) I didn’t use eye shadow, because, seriously? But I did try out Tarte Cheek Stain in Flush and indeed felt quite tarted up for the beach.

Airbrush Gets A Classy Makeover

I was recently presented with the opportunity to buy a Temptu AIRbrush Makeup System from Sephora at 40% off. At first, I thought: “No, I don’t need an airbrush. I am totally 100% fine without one.” But I’ve been sooo curious about airbrush makeup, and I have a blog to write, so about 3 minutes later I made my purchase online. The system came with two pods of foundation in my choice of color, which was easy to choose from the options they had. (I am almost always the lightest shade, or second lightest, skewed toward yellow.)

Lip Stain’s Got Your Back

On Monday, we learned you can use Lip Spackle to extend the wear of  lip gloss too, as opposed to only using it with lipstick. But what if you don’t want the opaqueness that comes with it? Or the color lightening effect? The pastelification of your sheer gloss? I recently heard another long-wear trick where you apply a lip stain first, then a gloss on top. It seemed like a great idea, so I had to test it out.

Awww... You're Making Me Blush!

Stila Custom Color Blush claims that it is “the first-ever pH-based powder that takes the guesswork out of picking the perfect shade.” Word is still out on whether or not it is strong enough for a man, though it is obviously made for a woman. Since I had been searching for the perfect shade, (along with the perfect everything) for quite some time, I decided to give it a shot.
