Salute The Salux

In my reading of the internetz, I’ve heard again and again about Salux, the Japanese “Beauty Skin Cloth”. People swear by them for smoother skin, so I finally decided to get one to see what all the fuss is about.

Glow On With Your Tan Self!

I got a promotional sample of Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Glow Pads free with a Sephora.com order way back in March(ish). It came with 4 packets, and I wish I had tried them immediately, so I could have told everyone to get a sample. But it just wasn’t seasonally appropriate to have a tan yet. No Pain, No Gain

A few years ago, after hearing that I shave my legs every day, my mother-in-law recommended that I get an epilator. In the 80s I tried my mom’s epilady for about one second and swore off them forever. My MIL assured me there were new innovations and they were much better. Plus, she said it makes your hair grow back finer. Since my skin is very light and my hair is very dark, in certain areas you can still see the hair under the skin even when the surface is completely smooth. I thought an epilator might be a good way to get rid of the “black dots.”

My Mia vs My Milia

One of the things I’ve spent a lot of time researching online is Milia. Primarily: How to prevent them. My dermatologist had already explained how to get rid of them. It involves either getting them cut out of your face, or applying Retin-A over the course of however long it takes the little sucker to come to the surface and roll away. This is why prevention is key.

For preventing milia, the general consensus is that an ounce of exfoliation is worth a pound of cure. And when I say “an ounce” I mean “a shit ton”. I need to do it every day, and with gusto!
